Who may sponsor a scholarship?
An individual, group, organization, business, or industry may sponsor and present a scholarship in the name of such a donor for a contribution of $600 or more. Permanent trusts can be established with a contribution of $5,000 or more. All contributions are tax deductible.

What types of memorials are available?

One-Time Scholarship Memorials
If the total funds donated in memory of a loved one amount to $600 or more, and there is no intention of establishing a permanent fund, a One-Time Scholarship Memorial will be awarded at graduation. Acknowledgment of the award and a list of donors will be sent to the family of the person being memorialized.

General Fund Memorials
If the total of all contributions received in memory of a loved one amounts to less than $600, the funds will be placed in the General Fund to be combined with other funds for distribution at graduation. However, an acknowledgment of your thoughtful gift will be sent immediately to the family of the person being memorialized.

Permanent Fund Memorials and Permanent Fund Endowments
These two programs are tax-deductible contributions established for the purpose of using only the earnings from the principal for scholarship awards. The donated funds will be invested by JEDFS and when the income has reached the amount necessary to provide a minimum award, a scholarship will be awarded on behalf of the fund bearing its name.
