Our second fundraiser of 2013 was once again a tremendous success, again raising over $2000!!! In the span of a month, we've raised over $4000 towards our scholarship fund for this year's scholarships for the Class of 2013!!! That's absolutely fantastic!

Despite bad weather, our supporters enjoyed a delicious lasagna dinner served up at the BMC Cafeteria, which was followed up by a great concert. The opening act was BMC's own Into the Black, and topped off by the much-loved local favorite, Thirty1 & Mandolin. A Night Out enjoyed by everyone, all for a great cause.

Many thanks to our adult and student volunteers for such a successful evening, as well as our event sponsors: Community Bank, NA, Glazier Food Service/Packing Company, Adirondack Energy, Fasprint, Seyfarth & Seyfarth CPAs, PC, Malone Office Products, SEI Design Group, and Leonard Bus Sales. 2012 SPRING FOLLIES - WHAT A GREAT SHOW!!!

Friday, April 20, 2012

On Friday April 20th, 2012, our Chapter sponsored the annual longtime favorite SPRING FOLLIES, our school's premier spring talent show at the BMC Auditorium. Those in attendence were treated to an absolutely fantastic show comprised of 21 total acts by some extremely talented performers...and the crowd loved all the evening's singing, dancing, and instrumentalist entertainment. Well done to all, and thank you for being our "hometown shining stars" for the night.

The show was extremely well attended and very successful, raising over $900.00 to add to our scholarship fund!

Special thanks to all our Student Volunteers - Katie Pierce, Chelsea Donais, and Antonio Mendoza, our MC's, Marissa Brockway, our Stage Manager, Peter Taylor, on stage crew, and Rebecca Hastings, on lighting, and Josh Collette, Brandon McCaffery, Deven Ploof, and Joey Russell of the band "Into the Black," for the use of their microphones and stands as well as help with our technical needs - as well as the ton of helpers we had backstage, and with ticket and concession sales and clean up. We couldn't have done it without you! Also, thanks to BMDFS Board Members, Ms. Nenette Greeno and Ms. Deborah Ducharme, BMC Music Teacher Mr. Paul Jadlos, and community volunteer Ms. Brenda Collette for all their assistance in making the night a resounding success, as well as Brushton-Moira Central School for the use of school for the event.

On Wednesday, December 14, 2011, our chapter held its very first fundraising event! We hosted a benefit spaghetti dinner at the Brushton-Moira Central School cafeteria to raise funds for the Brushton-Moira Dollars for Scholars scholarship fund for BMC's graduating seniors in 2012.

The event was a great success, and rasied $1,080.00 toward our fundraising goal of $10,000.00

More than 60 student and adult volunteers pitched-in with dinner preparation, service, and clean-up, as well as with a Chinese auction that was held durring the dinner. Also, more than 50 area businesses donated or contributed merchandise toward the event in some way, either with cash donations, dinner supplies, or Chinese auction prizes.

WIthout this help, the event would have never been as successful as it was, and all of our volunteer and donor support was sincerely appreciated! Thank you all so much, and we hope to see you at next year's dinner!!!
