David H. Moore Memorial Scholarship

This is considered the most prestigious award; given to a student for responsibility and overcoming obstacles. Consideration given for financial need, work ethic, and academics. Preference given for Psychology, Social Work, and Human Services.

Donald Holland Memorial Scholarship

Service to school and an athlete.

SHIRL Award

SHIRL stands for: Sincere, Helpful, Independent, Respectful, Loving.

Walter & Lois Thomas and Lyndon & Barbara Drake Award

College bound student with a love and passion for music.

Susan Lea Sabin Award

Going on to further education; community service/community involvement; effort in school, character and kindness.

Robert Narrow Memorial

1st preference given to students entering the business field; 2nd preference given to students entering the field of education; consideration also given to entrepreneurship skills.

DFS Natural Science Award

Attending college in a field of study in the natural sciences, including but not limited to: Nursing, Medical, Engineering, Ethics, Psychology, Sociology but excludes Theology, Military Science, Law, and Political Science; need based with consideration of grades.

Thelma Greenwood Memorial Award

1st preference given to a student entering the business field (preferably administrative assistant); consideration given to character and citizenship.

Michael Miller Memorial Award

1st preference given to a student entering the business field; community involvement and community service required.

Dollars for Scholars Award

Requires involvement in community service and in extra curricular activities; other areas considered are effort invested in school work, grades, willingness to accept and carry out responsibility, amount of work done raising money for Dollars for Scholars.

Mark Keating Memorial Scholarship

Given to a student showing perseverance.

Helen Keating Memorial Scholarship

Given to a student showing dedication.

Christine Palmer Russell Memorial Award

Given to a student for good academic effort, good sportsmanship, participation in athletics, and faithfulness.

Robert Genaway Memorial Award

Given to a student with a ositive attitude, good character, and is an athlete. Preference is given to students entering the field of Education (especially Physical Education), Science, Sports Medicine, or a related field.

 

 Dwight St. Mary Memorial Award

Must be an FFA member and be involved in community service; must be going on to further education at college or trade school (consideration first given to those majoring in Ecology, Agriculture, Technical Education, or related field; secondary consideration may be given to those entering the field of education).

 

Alison Follett Memorial Award

For a student with an artistic background, good character, positive attitude; must be planning to attend college for creative writing, art, or a related career. Amount of award to be determined by the strength of the candidate based upon set criteria; perference given to family members/relatives of Alison Follett.

 

 

Charles W. Collins Memorial Scholarship

Must be going on to further education at college or trade school and be planning to major in technology or related field.

 

Everett O. Flint Memorial Scholarship

1st preference given to a student entering mortuary science; 2nd preference is for those entering the business field; (other majors that will be considered are: Forensic Sciecne, Biology, Political Science, Economics or related field). Leadership and community involvement required.

          Seniors going on to a college education with career goals that follow their love of the outdoors.

***NEW***   FFA DFS Scholarship

          Applicants must be a FFA member and be involved in community service. Applicants must be going on to further education at college or trade school (consideration first given to those majoring in Ecology, Agriculture, Technical Education, or related field; secondary consideration may be given to those entering the field of education).

          Given to a student pursuing a career in business.

***NEW***   Brooke Elizabeth Lyon Remembrance Scholarship

          Given to a graduating senior from BMC who plans a career in the human services field and has the qualities that Brooke exemplified: character, leadership, a zest for life and unwavering desire to help those in need.
